BAM! includes the ability to build some types of assets that deliver special functionality. The list of builders will grow over time, as new features and enhancements are added. Not all builders are included with a standard license — see your Account Manager for more information about builders and licensing.
News
The News builder creates News assets for publishing to the MST. A News asset is a combination of an image and text which gets published on a recurring schedule. News assets that are created within BAM! must be approved and published before they are visible within the Mobile Sales Tool. To add a News item, click the Builders item in the top navigation bar, then click the News + button:
To create a News asset, the following info is needed:
Title - the headline for your news article
- Description - A short summary of the news article. Best practice is usually to excerpt the first paragraph of the article. This is especially important if using a PDF file for the actual article, so readers can see what it's about.
- Lead Image - select a relevant image asset from the DAM or upload from your computer.
- News Content - the text of your news story. You may either enter the text of the news story here or upload a PDF of the article. If you plan to include URL links to external content, only a PDF will provide this functionality.
Tags - tag the article to make searching and grouping easier.
When you are finished adding these items, click the Next button at the bottom. You will then be asked to select the location in the Asset Library to save the News Asset. Choose a folder, then click the Create button to save it. The News asset will appear in the folder where it was saved, and the asset type will indicate that it is News:
