NOTE: We are using our Mobile Sales Tool for example purposes in this article, and the titles, graphics and colors used may vary from those of your custom app.


Android and Apple devices use different storefronts to distribute apps, and each behaves a little differently from the other. 


INSTALLING A CUSTOM APP ON ANDROID:


To install your custom app on an Android device, use a link provided by your support contact, or search for the title of your custom app in the Google Play Store (your support contact can provide you with the exact name of the app if it is not showing up for some reason).



You may need to log in with a valid Google account, if you have not already.


Tap the ‘Install’ button; the app will be installed on your device, and you can then launch the app by tapping on the Open button.


INSTALLING A CUSTOM APP ON iOS:


On your iOS device, tap on the unique URL provided to you by your administrator or support contact. If the URL has already been used to install the app, it will not work, and you will need to request a new one.


The App Store will open (or possibly the ‘iTunes Store’, if you have an older version of the iOS/iPadOS operating system). If you are not signed in to your Apple account, you’ll be prompted to sign in, and potentially to agree to any new Apple app store terms and conditions, to which you have not yet agreed. You can use any Apple account to retrieve the app.



Once logged in, you will see the custom app redemption prompt:



This may be followed by a prompt for FaceID, TouchID, or your device passcode, to give the device permission to download the app. Follow the authentication prompts to continue with the app install.


Once you see this ‘successfully redeemed’ screen, you can click ‘Done’ and exit the app store app. The custom app will now be installed to your iOS device.


REGISTERING A NEW ACCOUNT


Once you have the app installed, you will need to register as a new user before you can log in and begin using the app.

From the login screen tap the ‘Have a Code? Register’ link at the bottom of the Login page:

 

Fill in the fields with all appropriate information, and fill-in the ‘Code’ field with the registration code provided by your admin or support contact. Press the ‘Register’ button:

You should receive an email at the address you registered with, with the subject line “BAM! - Email Signup Confirmation”, confirming your sign-up: 


Open the email and click on the ‘Verify Email’ button to verify your registration. If that button does not work with your browser or device, there is a direct link in the email which can be pasted into your browser to achieve the same purpose:


After clicking the button in the email you should receive a graphic confirming your registration:

Return to the app. Dismiss the “Registration Successful” notification, and Tap ‘Sign-In’ at the bottom of the screen to get back to the sign in page.

  

On the sign in page, your email address and password should already be entered. If for any reason they are not, use the same email & password you just used to register, and press the ‘Login’ button to begin using the app:
