Apple (iOS/iPadOS) devices have a feature called "app offloading", which can save disk space by deleting rarely used apps. In theory, tapping on an application icon allows the app to be reloaded and opened seamlessly. You can tell if an app has been offloaded because it has a small cloud icon next to the name of the app on the home screen:

However, the app offloading feature does not work with Apple's custom app redemption code method, where a unique URL is required to install an app. If a custom BAM! app is offloaded, tapping on it will give a vague error message:

If this happens, the user must contact an app administrator to get a new redemption (install) code.

To avoid this, a user must disable the app offloading feature for the device, in the Settings app. Note that this cannot be done on a per-app basis, only for the whole device:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll down to and tap "App Store"
  3. Find "Offload Unused Apps" and turn the feature off.
